How To Choose A Real Estate Agent

Finding the right professional to help you buy or sell your home can be a bit daunting. Sally Tunmer of HomeLight.com offers some suggestions that could help you along the way–and no doubt lead you to one of the knowledgeable experts at Exodus Realty.

Tunmer’s 17 steps include:

-Deciding what’s important to you: Do you need someone to proactively search for you, or do you just need someone to arrange showings for homes you’ve discovered? Do you need an agent to take the lead on everything, or just guide you?  Is texting your preferred method of communication, or do you prefer to chat via phone? These are all things to consider when looking for the right fit.

-Referrals: Check with people in your network and ask who they have worked with, how their experience was, and if they would use that agent again.

-Research: It’s always a good idea to check out the professionals you are interested in working with. Google Business, Angie’s List, and the Better Business Bureau may all be helpful not only for selecting an agent, but also for choosing the right plumber, electrician, painter and more.

-Check out local neighborhoods: Who has listings in your neighborhood of interest? Those agents are already familiar with those neighborhoods, which may prove helpful.
