Shelley Barton

I was raised on a family farm in Waldron, Indiana surrounded by corn and soybean fields, sheep and cattle grazing in the pasture, and tractors and combines chugging about.  It was there that I learned the value of hard work and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done.

God has blessed me with a wonderful family.  I married John Barton in January, 2000.  He is a man of integrity and I am so thankful for him.  I have three adult children – Eric, Christin and Bill – whom I’m very proud of.  Our family is close and we love to spend time together as much as possible.

After college, I moved to Shelbyville and worked in the accounting field until I moved to Greensburg in 1985.  There, I worked for Union Bank & Trust (later MainSource Bank) as a teller, accounting clerk, and then for many years in the wealth management department.  I also spent five years as a licensed personal lines insurance agent at Witkemper Insurance. For the next 13 years, I worked for three CNHI  newspapers (Greensburg, Batesville and Rushville) as the accounting and human resources manager. Then with my husband’s encouragement, I decided to do something I had always dreamed of doing but never had the time or opportunity – to pursue a career in real estate.

Buying or selling a home is one of life’s largest personal transactions and it’s important to have a professional REALTOR working with you. I am a full-time real estate broker, a member of the National Association of REALTORS, a member of the Exodus Realty team, and a HUD-certified agent. My goal is to provide excellent service to every one of my clients and customers and to make what can be a very stressful process as stress-free as possible for everyone involved.

If you or someone you know is considering buying or selling property, please don’t hesitate to give me a call.  I would love to work with you!
